COMPETITIVE SUPPLY

Trucillo has structured a supply strategy capable of yielding competitive advantages for the Organization and, at the same time, it adequately remunerates suppliers so as to guarantee a product that is the result of the best raw materials out there. Trucillo carries out an active monitoring throughout the supply chain both to ascertain first-hand the quality of its coffee and to ensure the right transparency to all stakeholders, who always play a fundamental role in the firm’s relations.

CLEAN WORLD

In Trucillo, the culture of coffee is correlated with the culture of a clean world: Through the limitation of waste and the use of recyclable materials it is possible to succeed in the ambitious goal of being sustainable. This commitment is also attained thanks to waste reduction: all disposable objects used within the company have been completely replaced with recyclable and biodegradable materials, hence becoming 100% plastic-free.

ORGANIC CERTIFICATION

Further added value to the commitment to the environment and natural ecosystems is represented by the Organic Certification that Trucillo obtained and preserved for over 20 years. Organic raw materials used in Trucillo are grown and harvested through a production system based on a set of objectives and principles as well as common practices, designed to minimize human impact on the environment, while ensuring that the agricultural system operates as naturally as possible.

The passion for good coffee has led the company to be close to the countries of production, in which Antonia Trucillo, as Q-grader, periodically makes research trips so as to offer the consumers an unparalleled taste, made of aromas and cultures from different lands.

The controls rigour throughout the whole chain as well as the respect of quality standards are fundamental steps that allow us to monitor the productive cycle with steady study and research.

AN INCREASINGLY GREEN CUP

A sustainable coffee

As climate change is a topic of interest to all identified stakeholders, the company in 2019 set itself the goal of embarking on a path to becoming 100% self-sustainable
through renewable energy.

Indeed, the Organization has always been attentive to the
responsible use of resources to ensure their efficient use, including internal and external investments in the production
area that ensure continuous improvement of all processes.

Since November 2019, in line with the sustainability objectives pursued by the company, electricity needs are largely covered by the new photovoltaicsystem, which produced, in 2020, about 147,000 kWh, equivalent to 58% ofannual electricity consumption, totalling 152,000 kWh.

In addition, duringperiods of inactivity of production (weekends and holidays), the company has committed to inject into the local electricity grid the self-produced energy for the benefit of the community, a total of 59,000 kWh, or 42% of the total.

In Trucillo, it is now rooted the awareness of its interaction, as a living entity, with the environment of which it is part. The firm, therefore, implements an environmental management system consisting of policies, processes, plans, practices and records, which define the rules governing such interaction and which follow the guidelines of ISO 14001.
Specific business processes meet in their entirety binding
and voluntary legal requirements. All parameters related to energy production, air emissions, consumption, and waste management are monitored, hence becoming part of the company daily management.
